Yes I am OK. Just been very busy with the Allotment together with working for my computer course, talking of which I must dash or I’ll be late. Did the Word test last week so get the results this morning. I hope I passed…

Glad to hear that not too much to worry about except blood pressure, although that can be a worry for the old ticker. Keep well, we dont want you getting any more higher blood pressure by visiting those nurses!!!!

    Hi Peggy
Glad your haircut went sort of OK.
Mine is short like a longish crew cut, easy to wash and dry…. NO NEED TO BLOW DRY… Wash and go. 😛

GMT is the time at Grenwich in London which was the time used by sailors who needed a reference time for plotting their course by the stars etc. We in England use GMT in the winter and British summer time in the summer, ie 1 hr ahead of GMT. In the USA you are behind GMT whilst Australia is ahead of GMT. That is why as I sit here now it is 9.32am on Friday 15 December 2006 yet Peggy’s first post is showing up as 2.05am on 15th. That is GMT +10 so Peggy must live in Australia or the post should read something like 8.05am on Thursday 14th US time depending on where in the US you are.

Time always fools me as I have traveled, friends in Tobago have phoned at 2am as it is only 6pm the day before there. I do wish that they could get the time difference figured out so I can get a good nights sleep!!!

    Hi Bobby
Welcome from a fellow beef eater from accross the pond where we make Yorkshire puddings to go with the roast beef of old England, namely a roast fore rib or better still a whole roast sirloin.

I have altered the ? to a – as it was in the original word document that I copied and pasted. This also lost all the tabs etc. Sorry that it is not as neat as I would like but hope it is useful. Most of the measurements I have checked myself..

in reply to: metric dl (?) #27238

    A dl is a decilitre
    or 1/10 of a litre
    or 10 ml.
    or 10g of liquid

The dl is used on the continent of Europe more than in England where ml and grams have just about taken over from pounds and pints.

It is now illegal in GB to sell goods in pounds and ounces and the only liquid allowed to be sold in pints is Beer in a Bar where metric measures are illegal, the glass has to be government stamped as a legal measure.
