Thanks Lucky
Good Idea, it may take a little time but I am on with it NOW!!!
We are going away for 14 days to get a bit of sun in the Canary Islands.
These are a small group of Islands off the coast of Africa (a 4 hr flight from our local airport). They belong to Spain and have a warm climate 20C at this time of year. It will be nice to relax and for Fay to have a rest…Stay safe
David
David CParticipantHi Bobby
Like you I’ve been checking in to see if everyone is OK but it is like a Ghost Town round here at the moment.
It is getting colder here at the moment Summer is very much a distant memory.(not that it lasted more than a couple of days)
Only managed 2 BBQ’S so will hope for more sun next year!!Have decided to type up my book of recipes from when I was at College, so will see how that goes, some of the pages are nearly not there any more through much use. You can trust your own recipes as the are well tried and tested!!
Hope to catch Peggy and TxChef later if they’re around.
David
David CParticipantNot since the storm.
I do hope that all is well.. Perhaps a lack of electricity?
David CParticipantIts Monday 1st at 8.00pm and the news is showing pictures of the storm as it is comming in towards land.
Fay and I both hope that you are all OK and that you manage to keep safe.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep us posted on how things are.
Love to you all
David & Fay.David CParticipantHope it does not have the same devestation as Katrina. It has been on the news here that they are talking about shipping people out of the way of the storm. I do so hope that everyone will be OK
David CParticipantPeggy
I am so sorry to have missed you birthday, I do hope that you had a great one and acted as young as you feel….ie your shoe size.
Huggs and kisses to you
DavidDavid CParticipantTXS
You kept this very quiet.. Can we all come to your party?Sending you best wishes from Sunny (just) Scarborough!!! :cheerleader: :birthday:
David CParticipantTxs Look on the positive side the test could have shown something you don’t want to know. At least they wern’t bad. The Drs will find out what it is and hopefully be able to get to the bottom of the problem with a cure. Never give up and do not worry until the Drs tell you you have something to worry about….
Keep your chin up and smile 😀
Thinking of you
DavidDavid CParticipantThat sounds great for you Bobby. We are having simlar weather here with flood warnings in N Ireland and in parts of Northern England for last night and today.
This weather has got us into sweatshirts and thick socks, NOT what we expect for the middle of Aug. The Tomatoes in the garden are not ripening yet and I think we may end up with a lot of Green Tomato Chutney.
Lets hope that those that want some sun get it whilst those that need rain will get what they want too..Love D 😀
David CParticipantYES PLEEEEESE, give me some of these………..
Come on Sharon how could yoou not want some of this?David CParticipantHope you all have a great day and forget the recession and Celibrate with a huge party. Wish I could be there with you and help with the food and drinks.

David CParticipantHi Sharon
Not been here for a while myself but its a great place to visit with some wonderful people about.
WELCOME to the gang and hope you stay around and get to know everyone.
I’m 62 and doing some advanced computer courses at the moment… its time consuming but great fun
I’m over the pond in North Yorkshire England and love cajun food as well.
Love DavidDavid CParticipantMy tomato plants have just got their first flowers but i have just eaten our first potatoes grown in pots in the greenhouse….They were sooooooo tasty!
I shall notbuy any more lettuce now until October and look forward to supporting myself in veg throughout the summer (if we get one this year). 😀David CParticipantPeggy I am well, infact I feel as well as I have done for 3 years.
My stay in hospital last year (13 weeks) seems to have sorted the problems out.
After my initial operation to remove the cancer I suffered from surgical complications that kept recuring in the form of abscesses in my lower abdomen. This really came to a head 2 years ago when the surgeon tried to reverse my colostomy and could not because my rectal stump had become fibrosed and hard. Last August he removed the rectal stump and my rectum, sewing everything up at the rear end.
I am now back to normal health wise but with a permanent colostomy. I still tire easily but that is getting better.
The weather here has picked up over the last week with temperatures of around 20C with plenty of sun.
I have been spending quite a lot of time on the allotment as well as in my own garden.. The potatoes are through as are the lettuce planted under a fleece.
The Blueberries are in flower and my clematis is just bursting into bloom.
The trip to New Zealand was great with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia a big shopping trat for Fay. In KL the temperature at 9.00pm was 30C although not too muggy.
I am in the process of making a photo album on Photoshop express, and when it is finished I will post the link so you can see the pictures.
It is bed time now so will come back soon
Love to you all
