Actually, I was born in San Diego, CA, then did a bit of traveling with my dad who was in the Navy. He retired while we were living in Arlington, but we settled down in Alexandria, which is where I call “home”. Did you ever see the movie “Remember The Titans” with Danzel Washington (about the high school football team during the beginning of the integration of schools)? Well, that was my high school – T.C. Williams HS of Alexandria, VA. (Class of ’77!!!).
And, I’m glad that I’m not the only “southerner” who doesn’t like grits!!! LOLLLL!!!! Take care, and have a great weekend!!!

Just had to jump on the band wagon about medications. I receive Social Security, and have the new Medicare “D” prescription plan. Excuse my language – but it really “BITES”!!! Not even halfway into the year, I’ve already reached the “ceiling” of what they pay, and now, I’m paying for almost all of my medications – 4 of which all together cost over $1000/month!!! I’ve had to stop a few of my meds all together!!! I know many people who get their medications from Canada – but, also have heard about the “sugar pills”. Don’t know if that’s really true or not – but at this rate – I wouldn’t be surprised!!! Well, y’all take care!!! (Christi – I hope that your back feels better!!!).

I, too, know what it’s like to be a “southerner” – I grew up in Virginia (still considered to the the “south”), and I remember my mom saying how could I be a “Southern Belle”, and NOT like grits?!!! And moving up and down the Eastern seaboard, I am forever being teased about the way I talk and the phrases I use!!!
BTW – A big welcome to “Quailrun”!!!! You’ll get a big kick out of our family!!! Hope you have lots of fun!!!

Hey!!! Stop being so down on yourself!!! Don’t forget, I’ve seen your picture!!! And I’ll tell everyone what a pretty lady you are!!!(are you blushing yet?!! 😳 ). And be patient – your day will come!!! As I tell my hubby – it took 34 years (that’s how old I was when we met) for me to meet the perfect guy – him!!! 😉 And, also, it’s a world-wide known fact that one’s house (or self) is NEVER in order when company comes unexpectedly (NO ONE ever comes when MY house is clean!!! LOLLLL!!!!) 🙄 So….SMILE and to hect with ’em all!!!!
