Hi Ya’ll – I met up with Peggy ( THE QUEEN OF CAJUN COOKING RECIPES) back around Sept. 2001. My cousin that lived out of Mansfield, La. introduced me to Cajun Cookin Recipes and Peggy ( a Super Lady, I may add). Peggy and with the help of others have put together a very good web site and forum. My hat is off to all concerned.BH
We dodged the bullet on this weather. We were under a tornado alert until 9 pm. last night, but the storms were North of us. It has just started drying out some down here. I have some calves I want to haul to the sale barn, but it is still to wet to get my stock trailer to the pens. I hope ya’ll made it through bad weather ok with no damage. I have a 30′ camper East of Clevland at the deer lease and I hope it didn’t get beat all to pieces with all the hail and tornadoes they were talking about on last nights weather in Liberty County. BH
You lucky devils — enjoy it to the fullest. I retired in 1989 with 25 yrs. from the state as livestock and agri. supvr. I turned 60 the first fo this yr. and I work as much now as I did then. My livestock won’t let me completly retire, but I love what I do!! BH
Texas Girl – I haven’t had any rain in about a week, but it is still wet with water standing in some places. My pastures that are close to my house are the black gumbo and will pull your rubber boots off, but the pasture I just leased North of where I live is a sandy loam. It has some water standing on it also, but it is easier to work in. BH
Thanks John for the recipe on fix’in hog head cheese. I thought all those bikers knew was ridding a hog. Ha! 🙂 BH
