Lol I love this, I’m a Northern girl but I have a very important
southern friend who has taught me a lot of lingo. Love that southern
accent too, it has a rhythm all it’s own.
I love your explanation of Southerners…going to send a copy to my daughter… I had to learn all that when I lived down there…I would love to get back there too…loved it…and the people…

Peggy, you eat your grits with sugar & milk? When my nephew got married and they had grits, his wife ate them like you do and he ate them with butter and salt & pepper like to rest of our family does. They each thought the other one was nuts! :rofl:

I just saw this post about the grits. I love them with fried eggs and sausage. When I was in daycare I had a little one that started out eating grits when he was a baby. Now he eats them just about anyway you fix them. With cheese, even with weiners cut up in them. His Mom is from South Carolina and lived in Texas about 30 years. She is a true southerner!! I don’t think I would ever like grits with butter and sugar in them. My Momma use to fry them after they got cold. Very GOOD!!!
