    well………………
the cartoon, “smokey Bear” was introduced in 1944………….
i should have been more specific.. i was looking for the year we met the little live cub who was saved from a forest fire, sent to the washington d.c. zoo to live, and soon became “smokey the bear”- this was all in 1950,

but your answer was technically correct, so you may proceed, bluemoon!

    A good song 😀

Wake up, little Susie, wake up
Wake up, little Susie, wake up
    We’ve both been sound asleep
Wake up, little Susie, and weep
    The movie’s over, it’s four o’clock
    And we’re in trouble deep
    Wake up little Susie
    Wake up little Susie, well

Whatta we gonna tell your mama
Whatta we gonna tell your pa
Whatta we gonna tell our friends
    When they say ooh-la-la
    Wake up little Susie
    Wake up little Susie, well

I told your mama that you’d be in by ten
Well Susie baby looks like we goofed again
    Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie, we gotta go home

Wake up, little Susie, wake up
Wake up, little Susie, wake up
    The movie wasn’t so hot
It didn’t have much of a plot
We fell asleep, our goose is cooked
    Our reputation is shot
    Wake up little Susie
    Wake up little Susie, well

Whatta we gonna tell your mama
Whatta we gonna tell your pa
Whatta we gonna tell our friends
    When they say ooh-la-la
    Wake up little Susie
    Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie……………… I agree with you bluemoon, I`m sure it was 1957

Thank you for the enlightening article, Lucky!
I do hope you realize that I never doubted it…I just never knew the year.I remember hearing the name of James Davis…but it had to have been later on in social studies at school, cause in the end of 61, I was just 4. Maybe my brother told me later on…he was in nam form 69 to 71.either way…it’s a sad thing.
