The wise old Owl sat perched on his favourite branch on the largest tree in the forest.
“Mmm, I do wonder some days why I ever bother to talk to these foolish birds and animals, I really do. I warn them not to do this, and I warn them not do that, and I warn them not to do what they do but ought not to do because I warned them.”
Owl shook his head, “I`m geting confused now!” he said as he rolled his eyes in wonderment. The last few days had been so hectic, Owl could not remember the last time he had a quiet moment to himself.
“Everybody wants something from me, everybody. I get so mixed up sometimes, so mixed up. Even the Badger and his family have been asking questions about this and that. I thought night would be a time of quiet for me, but no, those pesky Badgers only come out at night. And all the questions, it`s driving me featherbrained.”
Owl shook himself and decided that today, he would be extra nice to everyone, but it was going to be hard work.
The Teacher heard a noise, looked down onto the forest floor at all the creatures – who were mumbling and whispering in most annoying way, wow, even the Badgers were there…..and it was daylight!
There was a fluttering of wings and leaves were blown to the forest floor as the Eagle swept onto the branch next to the Teacher.
Owl fluffed his wings and gave Eagle an enquiring stare.
“This had better be good,” said the wise old Owl.
All the creatures on the forest floor were silent so silent, so quiet that leaves hitting to the forest floor sounded sounded like thunder……
