There was a very loud crack – like a thunderclap, Bear stumbled, picked himself up and then stumbled again……For a moment all sounds in the forest stopped. Not even a rustle of the leaves or the chirping of the night bugs could be heard. It was as if the world had stopped turning, at least in the forest. Then the silence was broken by cracking timber and voices, not animal voices but the voices of people.
What do you want? Wolfy growled. All eyes were on the possum now.
Stepping forward a tiny bit, Possum said in a quaking voice, Ah well ah maybe the bear is playing possum. I do it quite a bit, he boasted, and it has always worked for me.May 18, 2007 at 8:58 pm #43839GeorgieannaParticipantGreat generall…maybe Bear will be okay! 🙂

Blue Jay stirred and then slowly stretched his wings and tail feathers.
“Ohh, ummmm, ahhhh, whe…, where am I?” he thought to himself, looking around he remembered.
“Okay, okay, no time to lay there and relax, no time at all, we have to go, we have to fly, things to do, places to go, hury up, hurry up, hurry up.” Sir Robin was hopping around Blue Jay, wings all fluttering, causing the loose leaves to do a kind of drunken jig in the air as they were blown off Sir Robin`s house and began to float ever so gently towards the forest floor. The sun`s rays were bouncing off the leaves as they floated downwards, different colours of bronze, dark reds, gingers, green and even some yellow.“Okay, I`m awake, what`s for breakfast?” asked Blue Jay slowly getting to his feet.
“Breakfast! Breakfast!” shrilled Sir Robin, “oh no, you don`t have time for silly things like that, no time, no time at all, have to go now, things to do, places to go. Breakfast! well I never.”Blue Jay was laughing now, Sir Robin was funny – but Blue Jay was hungry, he could not remember when he ate last.
“Okay young sir, follow me,” said Sir Robin. He spread his wings and was soon soaring up and past the treetops, into the bright blue sky.
“Wait for me,” laughed Blue Jay as he leapt from Sir Robin`s home and sped skywards following his new friend.
Higher and higher they soared into the blue sky, the sun was warming their bodies all the time as they soared even higher.
Sir Robin then stopped and hovered in the sky, waiting for Blue Jay to catch up.
Blue Jay started to remember about what had happened the last time he flew so high and was getting a mite nervous.
Sir Robin noticed the anxious look in Blue Jay`s eyes. “Don`t worry little fella, don`t worry. Remember you are a bird, and birds are meant to fly in this huge sky. Anyways I`ll be here to watch over you if anything happens. OK, follow me little fella.” Sir Robin began to gently drift down towards the forest again, only this time he was heading towards the edge of the forest. Blue Jay had not noticed, he was so happy as he slowly drifted down to the forest, gently swinging to his left then to his right and then back again.
“Yes this was going to be a nice day,” he thought to himself, “a nice day.”May 20, 2007 at 3:42 pm #44016PeggyMemberOkay, I say it’s time to get serious about getting this published! Great job you two! :cheerleader: :nana:

And don`t forget the Badgers………………
They only come out at night 😆 😆 😆May 21, 2007 at 8:32 pm #44201PeggyMember:rofl: Of course the animals should get a percentage! 😆 I think the badgers need to have a little bit bigger percentage, as they only come out at night and have to work harder! 😆

May 22, 2007 at 8:38 am #44290PeggyMember😆 I didn’t mean the badgers should get more than England! I meant they should get more than the other animals!
