I know. It’s terrible. I just wish somebody would do something. I looked at some of the Canadian drug sites, and it’s so much cheaper there. My pharm. told me that sometimes all you get is sugar pills, but I don’t know. I hate to think he’s just saying that so I’ll keep getting my meds at the drug store. I’ve known these guys for a long time, from the drug store, and the bank I was working at before the radio station. AND…he told me that the drug companys won’t make a generic because of the risk of lawsuits on these arthritis meds. But on the Canadian sites, they HAVE generics!! What’s up with that?

I’m just glad that when my grandmother was alive (just about 3 years ago) she only had to take ONE rx!!! She was 96!!! I would have hated to see her have to shell out that kind of money for her medicines.

I have a Neice in Texas and they go to Mexico to fill their Rx and she told me it is less expencive than their copays with their INS. and they get theirs from CVS it the same stores as in America they just charge Mexico prices.

Hmmm….I wonder if you can get them online like that? Probably not, or she’d be doing it.

I don’t know but she says they live so close they go down all the time anyway and make a day of it. There is so much differance in the value of the dollar everything is a great bargin. I belive she told me their Rx is for ninty days so they really only have to go like four times a year.

What do you think about what my pharmacist said about the sugar pills?

It depends on the phar. I have been told if you order them from someone like CVS or Riteaid in Canada you will get the same Rx you get here, but I have heard stories about people getting capsules that empty or filled with sugar, but they were from other countries that don’t have as many regulations. Also they warn you about drugs from other countries that don’t test the drug before getting permission to sell them. I personally believe if you buy from a reputable company in Canada you will be OK. I also think a ploy of the Pharmacist try to use scare tactics so they won’t lose your business.

    Hi Y’all!!!
Just had to jump on the band wagon about medications. I receive Social Security, and have the new Medicare “D” prescription plan. Excuse my language – but it really “BITES”!!! Not even halfway into the year, I’ve already reached the “ceiling” of what they pay, and now, I’m paying for almost all of my medications – 4 of which all together cost over $1000/month!!! I’ve had to stop a few of my meds all together!!! I know many people who get their medications from Canada – but, also have heard about the “sugar pills”. Don’t know if that’s really true or not – but at this rate – I wouldn’t be surprised!!! Well, y’all take care!!! (Christi – I hope that your back feels better!!!).
    HUGZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!! :nana:
