Oh, well, I was, Mike stammered, I was on my way up to see if I could help when I heard Sarah scream.Hush Child, said Hattie, who was not at all taken back from the appearance of Lily. I believe you did see Lily, she said, and most likely for a good reason. Get some sleep and tomorrow we will find an excuse to get Mike Out of the house and we will begin our search.
After she was sure Sarah was asleep, Hattie made her way to the third floor and met with the three friends. They spoke in hushed tones unaware of a figure lurking close by, quietly listening to their conversation.:wave: splkstr, welcome!

….slowly turning around, not wanting to be suprised by who it may be, Sarah was both surprised and relieved to see that it was Terrance. Are you okay, Sarah, Terrance asked of her. Yes, thank you Terrance, but look Sarah quietly said pointing toward the window. They both stood looking and trying to make out who it could be that was outside, when all of a sudden Sarah felt a hand on her shoulder and she screamed bloody murder. Terrance turned to find Hattie behind them. Sarah was in tears and Hattie took her in her arms and tried to quiet her saying she only meant to quietly let her know she was there without alarming whoever it was outside from hearing them. I guess it backfired on me Hattie said with a sigh. I’m going to bring you back up to bed and Terrance you stay here and see if you can determine who if could be that’s outside.
As Hattie is bringing an inconsolable Sarah up to her bed, she tells her not to tell anyone of the person she saw outside until they find out who it is. After making sure that Sarah is sleeping well Hattie heads back downstairs to find Terrance on the porch talking with someone. Hattie begins to walk out when she hears…….:bow:
A loud crash overhead. It seemed to be coming from the attic! Just then Terrance and the person he was conversing with, who turned out to be Frank, rushed in the door. What was that loud bang? Terrance asked.
I think it came from the attic, Hattie explained, but the two men had already darted past her and were bounding up the stairs. Hattie followed as fast as she could and by the time she reached the others, the attic door was open and Frank was playing his flashlight around the room. An overhead light bulb with an attached cord was the only light fixture in the room and when Frank pulled the cord, the room was dimly lit. The room was covered in cobwebs and dust. It was full of storage boxes and a couple of old trunks. Visible on the dust covered floor were rather large foot prints leading to the trunk and towards the far wall.True, said Hattie, and who was outside with the flash light?
Foot steps could be heard on the stairs and soon they were joined by Beth, Sarah and Mike. Apparently the whole house was awakend by the commotion
