Okay, let’s see, where were we? Oh yeah:
Hattie was following Mike, so Sarah grabbed ahold of Hatties hand, whispering, Hattie….please tell me what the heck is going on? I’m so scared here, and Mike seems different, just what are you planning on doing? Hattie turns around and hisses, SSSSSHHHH Child, and yanks her hand out of Sarah’s and stomps up the stairs after Mike. Sarah sighs and starts to follow Hattie, but all of a sudden she was stopped by an invisible force so strong that she was unable to move, or to speak…
Mike followed by Hattie reaches the door to the guest room and Mike turns to apparently say something to Sarah when he notices her still on the stairs with a stricken look on her face. What’s wrong, he asks Sarah?
Sarah, not answering just stands there and inside she can feel the muscles of her stomach tightening, her whole body is starting to shake violently when all of a sudden…..She {Sarah} collapsed, apparently in a dead faint. Mike went to her and lifting her in his arms carried her to the guest room bed. He moved to chafe her wrists to arouse her but Hattie stopped him with a harsh warning.
Don’t touch her! She will be fine, let me near. Hattie produced a small vile from the bag around her neck. Here, she directed Mike, Go make some tea and empty the contents of this vile into it.What’s wrong with her? Mike asked. What is going on here? His concern seemed genuine but Hattie looked at him coldly and said, Go to bed and get some sleep, I will sit with Sarah and when she feels better then we may have some answers.
Mike went to Sarah and kissed her lightly on the forehead. He started to speak but cowed by Hattie’s icy stare, turned away without a word and left the room….@Georgieanna wrote:

Sarah continued to sleep so Hattie decided to catch 40 winks until Sarah awoke. Abruptly, Hattie woke up at 4 in the morning and Sarah was still asleep, I don’t know if I should try to wake her or not, Hattie thought. I hope the child is okay. Then from beyond the door she heard movement and wondered if it was Mike stirring about. Who else could it be, Hattie wondered to herself. Whatever happened with Lily I wonder. Hattie sat rocking and thinking about nothing in particular as Sarah continued to sleep. Finally as the sun was starting to rise, Hattie fell back asleep. About 8 AM, there was a light tap on the door which woke Hattie with a start. As she got up to answer it she saw that Sarah was still asleep . Now I’m starting to worry, Hattie thought as she opened the door to see Mike standing there.
