Well, Mom is getting better, and worse. The surgery was a success, but she has developed pneumonia, and a staff infection. She is still in ICU.
Please keep those prayers coming, this poor lady needs all the prayers she can get.September 20, 2007 at 3:20 am #51930TxsChefMemberThe prayers are flowing Peggy!! (((((Peggy)))))
September 20, 2007 at 9:03 am #51931David CParticipantPeggy our prayers and thoughts are with you and your Mum. I am sure that she is in the best place and getting the best care possible. The worst is over with the operation, the infection is not nice but can be overcome.
Keep your chin up and think of all the good time to come.Love David

I have been away for a while and it is so good to see you are back and doing better David C 🙂September 22, 2007 at 12:52 am #51985PeggyMemberThanks David, you of all people would know that infection can be fought! You have been put through it all for a long time! Hope you are feeling much better now, and the worst is behind you for good!
September 22, 2007 at 12:57 am #51986PeggyMemberHey G, and thanks. Glad you could get some time to come in. I have been worried about you too. I sure hope your parents improve. It sure is tough watching your parents go through this isn’t it?
Mom is tired, weak, and frustrated. They have her on a type of ventilator, and it’s a mask that fits real tight across the face, and straps across the forehead, and also the chin, that makes a real tight seal. It’s hard to understand her, and that makes her mad too. She was FINALLY able to eat some jello last night. Poor woman hasn’t had anything since last Sunday. But she can’t eat no more than about 5 bites. So, she may have to go on a feeding tube also.
She just need to beat this pneumonia. She is a strong stubborn lady, and she is now trying to co-operate.
Thank you, and everyone for the prayers and good wishes. With God, all things are possible.
G, hang in there. I know it’s tough. But, it’s our time to be tough for them.
We miss you, and come back when you can. We will be here.

September 23, 2007 at 4:01 pm #52044generallParticipantPeggy, my heart goes out to you now more than ever. I am doing fine in spite of everything going on in my life. Just concentrate on You and your Mom. She seems like a strong woman {too stubborn to give in to this latest setback and so are you, my friend} and we are all sending our thoughts and prayers our way.
September 23, 2007 at 8:15 pm #52054PeggyMemberThanks G, she seemed a little bit better today. Let’s hope it’s the start of recovery for her. The doctors say her chances of surviving this mess is about 60 percent. She has something called ARDS along with pneumonia.
Thanks so much for everyones prayers and support, they are much needed and appreciated.
