Monday! What happened to the weekend, it went tooo quickly 😯
It`s quiet here today – all the kids are back at school – not a sound can be heard except the birds and the odd bark from a dog.
It`s warm but there are some black clouds heading this way
Chicken soup for lunch today :stirpot: 😀 no salad 😀 then I`m going to sit in the garden and have a cool beer, if the rain holds off. :beer:May 14, 2007 at 4:42 pm #43226GeorgieannaParticipantEnjoy your day, England! All my best to Charlie. 🙂
May 15, 2007 at 11:16 am #43398englandboy – JohnParticipantIt`s a good day today, no cough, no sore throat :nana: It`s warm, cloudy, no wind 😀
A friend is picking me up today and we`re off to the pub about 3.pm. Charlie is out doing women`s things – shopping for clothes and such.
So I will have 2 hours to sit and chat with friends in the pub 😀
Normally in the afternoon at the pub there are about 3 to 4 people in the bar. But as it is a nice warm day, we`ll probably sit in the pub garden with our drinks. I`ll be thinking of all you good people when I`m sitting there
It sure is quiet around here, I`ve got my big window open and I can`t here a thing – apart from the birds.
I hope you are all having a nice day 😉Catch you all later…………..
May 15, 2007 at 2:42 pm #43400generallParticipantSounds great, enjoy!
So glad you are feeling better 🙂May 15, 2007 at 2:53 pm #43405GeorgieannaParticipantI second generall’s feelings, England! I’m so glad you knocked that cold out, that’s one thing you didn’t need. Enjoy your day! 🙂
May 16, 2007 at 8:30 am #43609englandboy – JohnParticipantEnjoyed my afternoon out at the pub yesterday 😀 another fine day here today, warm, no wind, slight haze 8)
Not be going anywhere today, just going to have a real lazy day doing nothing – guess what`s for lunch, yes you guessed rightI`m sure my ears are getting longer 😆 😆
Going to watch “The Persuit of Happiness” tonight on dvd. I`ve been told it`s a good film 🙂
Have a nice day everyone and don`t work to hard :wave:May 16, 2007 at 4:15 pm #43620generallParticipant😆 😆 I can just imagine your nose wiggling and your front teeth becoming more prominent. After lunch, hop on out to the garden for a cool drink of something. Carrot juice perhaps. 🙂
May 16, 2007 at 4:29 pm #43623GeorgieannaParticipant🙂 Have a good day, England. It’s rainy and thundering here, a good day to just enjoy!
May 17, 2007 at 9:17 am #43699englandboy – JohnParticipantDark skies, rain, a real awful day 🙁 but it is warm 😀
This the place we went to the other week “The Lake District” to watch the sunset. Something was not working properly on the camera that day, the pictures are all weird and fuzzy. I`ve posted a link so that you can see what the different places look like at the Lake District.

In the summer it really is a smashing place to visit, but in the winter, it`s got to be the coldest place in England 😕
There are lots of things to see and do and they do have plenty accommodation chalets and camping grounds. There are also plenty of spaces to park your camper etc…
We`ll probably be going back sometime in the next few months for a long weekend and have a relaxing time.
If we win the Lottery, I`ll reserve a booking for you all 😆 😆 😆When you click on the link – scroll down and click on the panoramic full screen view, It`s amazing 😀 use your mouse to move up and down, and left and right.
May 17, 2007 at 12:18 pm #43706David CParticipantHi
The lakes can be splendid when the sun shine but all I have ever seen when visiting them is RAIN and yet more Rain…..
Talking of which we have had rain here in Sunny Scarborough nearly all this week. The plants in the allotment are growing and we are eating our own raddishes, lettuce and new potatoes. We have planted out runner beans, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and early and main crop potatoes.
The tomatoes in the greenhouse have their first flowers as have the peas, broad beans and strawberries. ( The strawberries in the cold frame have set fruit, so it won’t be long before we get to tast them)
Between the allotment and our own garden I am not having a lot of free time but will visit as oftewn as I can. We are of to France on Saturday at 6.00am so it means leaving home for the Airport at Leeds in the early hours, about 2.45am!!!!! Not looking forward to that!!!
Fay finses at Hull University today, she has worked there as a clerical assistant for 2 years.. She is starting as the Exams officer for community education on 2 June..
John keep having the walks and occasional pint.. sounds good to me.Will let you know about France on my return.
Keep well

May 20, 2007 at 11:36 am #43997englandboy – JohnParticipantA nice photo of the River Tyne taekn at night and showing the Rivers bridges.
The Bridge in the forefront was built prior to the 1999/2000 New Years Eve celebration. It was named the Millennium Bridge – the locals call it the winking eye.The original photo was too big to post 😯
