That traffic around Dallas is awful. We love Texas but wouldn’t live there.
Austin is a pretty place. Hillsboro is really small but nice.

Hello to All, I’m been so busy here at home with company and everything else, then we’ve been gone on vacation & a couple weekend get aways and going back to work I just haven’t had the time to do much on here.
Finally have a day off so I thought I’d stop by and say HI.

Trying to get ready for winter, I HATE WINTER! Wish we could retire and become “snowbirds” and be on our way to AZ. or anyplace warm.

Good Morning Generall, It’s going to be HOT here in western Idaho again today also. But I’d rather it be HOT then wet and soggy like it is in Texas. I have a cousin that lives down there and she says it bad. They haven’t been flooded yet, and praying they don’t.

Enjoy your time with Hubby home.

Well I’m a little late on this but guess that’s OK. It sounds allot like my
7 Day Sweet Pickles, they are very crisp and so easy to make. It’s the only kind of pickles my hubby will make.
Here’s the recipe if anyone wants to try them.

    7 Day Sweet Pickles

    7 lbs. med. size cucumbers
    water to cover
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 T. salt
    8 c. sugar
    2 T. mixed pickle spices

Wash cukes real good & cover with boiling water. Let stand 24 hrs. then drain.
Repeat each day for 4 days using fresh water each time.
On teh 5th day cut cukes in 1/4″ rings. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt & spices (put in bag in you want) (also add 1/2 to 1 c. water if you like)
Bring liquid to a boil & pour over sliced cukes.
    Let stand 24 hours.
Drain syrup in to a pan and bring to a boil.
    Pour over cukes.
    Repeat on the 6th day.
On the last day, drain off syrup again & bring to a boil.
Add cukes & bring back to the boiling point.
Pack into hot jars & seal.
Put jars into a canner & cover with water, bring to a boil & boil for about 5 minutes. remove jars and let cool. Listen for the lids to pop then you’ll know they are sealed.
These are very crisp & delicious pickles.
    Enjoy!!
