Well I dodged a bullet and I’m sure it’s due to the thoughts and
prayers by everyone, and I thank you dearly, and Bud thanks you
dearly. By the time it got over my house the eye had collapsed into
itself and it had weakened considerably. A portion of the center of
circulation did go over the house.Hpwever, it did come over on a
diagonal path.If you picture a clock, it came over from the 10
o’clock position, then the center, and left from the 5 o’clock position.That meant I got a lot of the north wind for quite a while, and it
wast mostly 45-55 miles/hour sustained, and our biggest gust was reported
to be 69 miles/hour which is not hurricane strength. As part of the
collapsed eye went over around 4pm, the wind was about 10 mph and there
was no rain at all. Bud got to go potty, the pigeons were here feeding
in the driveway as usual.Then the west wind came thru and was no problem at all.By then, it was
far enough north that I got none of the south wind.Baton Rouge got gusts of
109mph from that south wind but that was 48 miles east of me.I lost a few shingles, tons of small limbs in the yard and I lost one
huge pine tree in the back yard but it fell away from the house onto the
woods in the back.I lost power at 2:55 pm and around 5pm my mailman
showed up with a generator since he didn’t lose power and he lives 1/2
mile down the street.That saved everything in my freezer, gave me one
light in the gallery, and one tv.So I sat and watched the rest of the
preseason games I had taped earlier.The power came back on yesterday at 4:15. That’s only 25 hours of nuisance
for me which was a total blessing. The parish just SE of me got the full
center before it had weakened too much.The south wind which I missed
caused total destruction. Their entire parish is without power. Their whole
parish is without water.Their whole parish has no sewage.They could be without power for months.They need your thoughts and
prayers that I got.That’s going to be a miserable existence for a long time.
The rains have turned the state into a mosquito factory.When Bud goes out now,
it looks like he is wearing a blanket of mosquitos.But we are safe, but are in for heavy rains for a couple of days. My location
is the only one not under a flood. All those heavy bands of rain kept going
east of me. All in all I was very lucky, and I appreciate your thoughts.
I will shut down again for awhile because heavy rain usually triggers the
power to go off and on periodically. I don’t want that shutting down my pc.I’ll be back after the rains- thanks again.

I was the first one to wish er well after she posted. I checked and it was there. When I came back today it was gone.
