3 lb. elbow macaroni
5 lb. pork sausage
5 lb. ground beef
2 c. diced onion
1 1/2 c. sausage drippings
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. salt
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. vinegar
3 qt. canned tomatoes
3 qt. cooked lima beans
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water about 7 minutes.
Drain and rinse. While macaroni is cooking, make 1/2 the
mixed meat into 48 patties and brown well. Crumble rest of
meat into skillet and brown well. Drain meat. Brown onion in
meat drippings. Stir in flour, salt, sugar and vinegar.
Gradually add tomatoes and cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Fold in macaroni, crumbled meat and lima beans. Pour
into 3 baking pans 11 x 16 x 2 1/2-inches. Arrange 16 patties
of meat on top of each pan. Bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degrees oven.
