Glazed Onions
24 small white onions, peeled
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup butter
3/4 teaspoon salt
Parboil the onions for 10 minutes. In another pan, cook the sugar and water until the sugar is dissolved. Add the butter and salt to the sugar mixture and stir until the butter has melted. Cook for about 5 minutes. Place the onions in a pan and pour the sauce over them. Place the pan under the broiler and broil until lightly browned. Baste frequently with the sauce while broiling.
