Lemon Marinated Beef Sirloin Steak

1 lb beef sirloin steak; cut 2-2.5in thick
1 tsp lemon peel; finely shredded
2 Tbs lemon juice
3 Tbs oil
2 Tbs scallion; sliced
4 tsp sugar or artificial sweetener
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard, prepared
1/8 tsp pepper

Score fat edges of steak. Place meat in a shallow baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over steak. Cover; let stand 4 hours in the refrigerator or overnight, turning steak several times. Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade. Pat excess moisture from steak with paper towels. Grill steak over medium-hot coals 17 to 20 minutes. Turn; cook 15 to 17 minutes more for medium-rare. Heat reserved marinade on grill. Remove steak to serving platter. Carve steak across the grain; spoon marinade over slices.

  1. I'm totally drooling over this. I have not had a good BBQ steak in such a long time.

I have a question: Do you tenderize it ? If so what method?

I always have a problem with burning sugars that I use for marinade. Do you have any suggestions?

  2. This recipes sound very good. I will definitely give it a try later. Thanks!
